Home › Portfolio › Paver Patio Around an RV and Cabin in Olympia, WA
Sta-Built Construction replaced the gravel around a fifth-wheel RV and a small cabin on a wooded Olympia, WA lot with a paver patio in June 2026. The work order covers 562 square feet of Belgard Dimensions 12 pavers in Scandina Gray, laid from the RV’s entry stairs across to the cabin door, plus 10 cubic yards of fresh gravel for the beds on either side. The crew built it June 24 to 30.

Before and after
The problem
This lot is set up around a fifth-wheel RV with a built-in entry deck and a small wood cabin beside it. When our designer walked it on May 12, everything between the RV, the cabin, and the lane was loose gravel. The only hard surface was a small square of red plastic deck tiles at the foot of the RV stairs, and a line of river rocks marked a path across the gravel toward the cabin. Patio furniture sat directly on the rock.
The solution
The design sheet fills the space on the RV’s door side with one continuous paver surface: about 30 feet along the front edge and 14 feet deep, cut around the RV’s entry deck and stairs, with a 4 foot strip along the end of the RV and pavers out to the cabin door. Gravel stays where gravel works, in beds on both sides of the patio and along the lane, and the work order brings in 10 cubic yards of new 5/8 or 3/4 inch rock for them.
A walkway extension was added by change order during the build, on June 29.
The materials
The pavers are Belgard Dimensions 12 in Scandina Gray, a DuraFusion finish, a large-format paver laid here in a mix of rectangle sizes. The material order from SiteOne also lists joint sand, Portland cement, and geotextile fabric. The June 25 photos show the Belgard pallets staged beside the cabin.
How it was built
The edges were painted on the gravel during a June 5 walk, and excavation started June 24. This site has more to work around than an open backyard: the RV’s skirting, the lattice under its entry deck, the cabin wall, and the RV’s hookup lines. On June 25 the crew ran a string line along the deck’s lattice skirting and checked the grade against it with a tape, checked the dig depth against a string line, and photographed the hose and cord at the hookup box where they pass through a PVC sleeve, with the fabric folded back around them.
Pavers went down June 27 and 28. The June 30 photos show the patio finished up to the deck stairs and the cabin step, with the new gravel bed along the lane.
The finished result
The RV stairs and the cabin step now land on one level paver surface instead of loose rock, and the tile mat and rock-lined path are gone. Gravel remains only in the beds beside the patio.
What a project like this costs
Project investment range: $16,300 to $25,700. This range reflects the scope of this completed project and is not a current quote.
Most of the cost is the 562 square feet of patio: excavation, base, and a large-format Belgard paver that has to be cut around the deck, the stairs, the RV skirting, and the hookups. The 10 cubic yards of gravel is a smaller share. The range covers the original contract; the walkway extension added by change order is not included.

Related questions
What does a paver patio on an RV lot cost in Olympia, WA?
This project came in between $16,300 and $25,700, covering 562 square feet of Belgard Dimensions 12 pavers and 10 cubic yards of gravel. The range reflects this completed project and is not a current quote.
What materials were used?
Belgard Dimensions 12 pavers in Scandina Gray with the DuraFusion finish, joint sand, Portland cement, and geotextile fabric from SiteOne, plus 5/8 or 3/4 inch gravel for the beds beside the patio.
Can pavers go in around an RV that stays parked on the site?
On this job, yes. The RV stayed in place, and the crew dug and set the patio around its skirting, its entry deck and stairs, and its hookup lines, checking the grade at the deck’s lattice skirting with a string line.
How long did the installation take?
The crew photos run from excavation on June 24, 2026, through base rock and grade checks on June 25 and pavers on June 27 and 28, to the finished patio on June 30.
