Sta-Built installs every lawn the right way: an excavated and compacted base, 3.5 to 4 inches of crushed rock, woven geo-textile fabric, premium turf joined with our Super Seam Method, edges nailed a minimum of every 12 inches, and infill power-broomed in at 1.5 pounds per square foot. The Sta-Built Turf Process
Every lawn follows the same proven process. No shortcuts.
Excavate & Compact the Base
We excavate about 4 inches down and compact the subgrade, then install 3.5 to 4 inches of crushed rock — the foundation for drainage and a flat, stable surface.
Lay Woven Geo-Textile Fabric
A woven geo-textile barrier goes down over the base to block weeds from pushing through and to keep the crushed rock locked in place.
Install Turf with the Super Seam Method
Premium turf is rolled out and joined with our Super Seam Method — curved, S-shaped seams instead of straight lines — so the joints disappear and stay locked together for years.
Nail & Secure the Edges
Edges and seams are nailed a minimum of every 12 inches so the turf stays tight, flat, and never lifts or peels up over time.
Infill & Power Broom
We brush in infill at 1.5 pounds per square foot and power-broom the entire surface, so the blades stand up full, soft, and natural. We inspect before we leave.

Yes. Our turf is pet-friendly and built to drain. The free-draining rock base and infill let urine flush through and the surface rinse clean — no mud, no dead spots, and a durable surface that holds up to running and digging.
It does when it’s installed right. We excavate and compact a 3.5 to 4 inch crushed-rock base and lay woven geo-textile fabric so water drains straight through — important for the Pacific Northwest’s wet seasons.
Not with our Super Seam Method. Instead of straight seams that are easy to spot and prone to splitting, we join turf along curved, S-shaped seams that blend into the lawn and stay locked together for years.
