Built-In Seat Walls
Seat Walls Built to Gather Around
Custom built-in seat walls across Washington and Oregon. Solid, capped, sit-on-them-for-decades construction that turns patios and firepits into a place everyone gathers.
Built to Last
Seating That’s Built Into the Yard
A seat wall does double duty — it defines your patio or firepit and gives everyone a permanent place to sit, with no chairs to drag in and out. At 18 to 22 inches it’s exactly the right height to sit comfortably, and a smooth cap makes it the finished centerpiece of the space. Built right, it stays solid and level for decades. Built wrong — stacked blocks with no base or beam — it wobbles, separates, and sinks within a few seasons.
Sta-Built builds every seat wall the right way: a compacted crushed-rock base, each layer bonded with proper construction adhesive, our Sta-Built Beam for a dead-level, reinforced top, and a finished cap you’ll actually want to sit on. We match the block and cap to your patio and home. Every wall is backed by our 17-Year Craftsmanship Warranty.

Why It Matters
Not All Seat Walls Are Equal
A seat wall has to hold real weight and stay level for years. Stacked blocks on bare dirt don’t. Here’s what separates a Sta-Built seat wall from the rest.
The Other Guys
The Right ChoiceNo warranty or 1-3 years max
You’re stuck when the wall wobbles or settles
17-Year Craftsmanship Warranty
Industry’s longest. We stand behind every wall.
Blocks just stacked, not bonded
Layers shift and the wall loosens
Every Layer Adhered
Bonded with proper construction adhesive into one solid unit
Set on dirt, no real base
The wall settles and sinks unevenly
Compacted Crushed-Rock Base
A solid, well-draining footing that won’t settle
Wavy, uneven top course
You feel every bump when you sit
The Sta-Built Beam
A dead-level, reinforced top course built to sit on
Loose or missing cap
Caps wobble, shift, and chip
Finished, Secured Cap
A smooth, comfortable seating surface that stays put
Wrong height to sit on
Too low or too tall to be useful
Built at 18–22 Inches
True, comfortable seating height every time
The Right ChoiceHow We Build It
The Sta-Built Seat Wall Process
Every seat wall follows the same proven process. No shortcuts.

Excavate & Build the Base
We excavate and compact a crushed-rock base — the solid, well-draining footing a seat wall needs to stay level for years.
Set & Level the First Course
The first course is set dead level — it sets the line and the stability for the whole wall.
Adhere Every Layer
Each layer of block is bonded with proper construction adhesive, locking the wall into one solid, permanent unit.
Build to Seating Height & the Sta-Built Beam
We build the wall to a comfortable 18 to 22 inches with no back, topped with our signature Sta-Built Beam for a dead-level, reinforced top course.
Finish with a Cap
A smooth cap is set and secured — a clean, comfortable surface that’s ready to sit on and built to last.

Happy Customers
Real Homeowners, Real Stories
Here’s what homeowners have to say about Sta-Built.
“I couldn’t be happier with the firepit and seating area that the impressive team at Sta-Built Construction created in our backyard! From start to finish, they were professional, communicative, and clearly passionate about their work. They helped us choose a design that fit perfectly with the space and style of my home, and the final result exceeded my expectations. The firepit has become the centerpiece of our yard, and the built-in seating is both comfortable and beautifully integrated into the landscape. I highly recommend Barry, Michael, and the entire team to anyone looking to transform their yard into a cozy, inviting retreat!”
Rodney Riley – Vancouver, WA
“Peter, Riley, and crew did an incredible job of reading my mind and creating a “retreat experience” in my back yard. I have a beautiful half circle, pavilion style patio, with curved bench seating, two planter areas, and a much better design than a decking system could ever offer. It is so beautiful – I cannot stop looking at it! Overall, great workmanship, customer service, delivery on promise, and I feel it is a fabulous update to my home that will add value and enjoyment for years to come.”
Vicki Walker – Olympia, WA
“Zach Kaiser helped us tremendously with our fire pit patio installation last Summer. The fire pit area came out beautiful and we had a positive working experience with Zach. I would highly recommend Sta-Built.”

FAQ
Seat Wall Questions
Everything homeowners ask before getting started.
We build seat walls at 18 to 22 inches — the comfortable height to sit on, like a bench. They’re built with no back, so they work from either side, around a firepit, or along a patio edge.
Absolutely — it’s one of the most popular requests. We design the seat wall to wrap your firepit or frame your patio so there’s always a comfortable, permanent place to sit and gather.
It’s our reinforced, dead-level top course built into every capped wall. It ties the wall together and gives the cap a flat, solid foundation — so the seat is level and stays that way.
Every seat wall gets a compacted crushed-rock base, each layer bonded with proper construction adhesive, the Sta-Built Beam, and a finished cap. That’s what keeps it solid enough to sit on for decades — backed by our 17-Year Craftsmanship Warranty.
Cost depends on the length, the block and cap you choose, and whether it ties into a patio or firepit. We provide a transparent, itemized estimate during your free in-home consultation, so you know exactly what you’re paying before any work begins.
